Understanding TAKS Ratings

The 2008 TAKS results were recently released and once again there is a lot of talk about the ratings of individual schools. It is great that Liberty was recognized but our other schools were extremely close as shown in the table below. Allen High School was also recognized and so I included their data for additional comparison.

Here are some things to notice in the data:

  • Centennial missed being recognized by one student in science.
  • Centennial was really great in Reading/ELA.
  • Frisco missed being recognized by two students in science.
  • Liberty had the highest overall average, even though they are the most diverse.
