Frisco ISD Historical Tax Rates
A recent question came to me about the Frisco ISD tax rate. I am pleased to say that compared to other districts in the area, we have been able to keep our tax rate low even though we are the fastest growing district in the entire state. This is not all the result of Frisco ISD actions. We are very lucky to have a wonderful relationship with the city. We are constantly working together on parks, roads, and strategies to attract businesses which helps achieve a healthy tax base.
What is not shown in the graph is the fact that both Plano and Frisco
contributed a large amount of revenue to Robin Hood. This past legislature made changes in the funding formulas and you can easily see the effect on the local ISD tax rates. A common misconception is that Robin Hood disappeared. This is not true. Frisco and Plano still
contribute to Robin Hood, just at a lower amount.
As you can also see from the graph, Plano lowered their tax rate below Frisco's this past year. However, this is largely driven by our debt payments ($0.39 for Frisco compared to $0.2484 for Plano). On an operational basis the Frisco tax rate is $0.96 compared to $1.02 for Plano.
