Frisco ISD 2007 Grades 3-11 Student Performance

In this article, I want to examine student academic performance for the majority of our grade levels. The only way to truly understand our performance is to compare our results with the results of similar districts using the same assessment instruments. In this case, it is the state defined TAKS tests.
For the data analysis, I chose districts who adjoined our borders. This will give us a lot of size variance (Plano versus Prosper), but it should also give us a certain commonality of students. The districts that we will compare against include:
- Prosper
- Little Elm
- Allen
- Denton
- McKinney
- Lewisville
- Plano
As you can see from the table below,
Frisco ISD led in four of the six categories when it came to the accountability performance and was within one percentage point in one other category. It is pretty easy to see that Frisco ISD performed well in this assessment. However, most of the North Texas Students performed well at this level.
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) also releases a
Commended Performance rating for each district based on the percentage of students achieving a "Commended" rating on TAKS. As a whole,
Frisco ISD led in three of the six categories and was within one percentage point in two other categories. There is more of a spread on these results and it is pretty easy to see that Frisco ISD performed extremely well in this assessment.
