Serving on the Frisco ISD School Board is a true honor and something that I felt called to perform. As soon as my children started school, I started my service by helping with the 1998 Citizens Bond Committee. I was then asked to chair the 2000 Citizens Bond Committee which was for $298M and passed with a 96% approval rate. It is sure heart warming for the district to have such confidence and support from our community.

I decided to run for the school board in 2002 when my good friend Libby Maus stepped down after 12 years of truly outstanding service to the children of our district. I felt blessed to have the opportunity to serve, and the work began immediately when Dr. Reedy scheduled me to attend new board member training at Texas A&M Commerce.

Over the next six years, I continued training, researching, and studying every issue with an open mind. It is time consuming, but fulfilling work. I do want to thank my family for all their support over the years.

The outpouring of support from my friends and community as I entered the 2008 campaign is very meaningful to me. I am extremely honored by the endorsements and support from friends, students, teachers, former leaders of FISD, and the community at large.
