Chairman of the 2000 Bond Committee

It has been my pleasure to serve on the citizens bond committees. I had the honor to be chairman of the 2000 bond committee, which was a $298 million dollar proposal that passed with a 96% approval. It is clear that the citizens of Frisco are willing to spend the money necessary to build quality schools for our children.

The bond committee is made up of concerned citizens who spend months meeting with demographers, developers, city staff, and administration to review the needs of the district. The committee then makes their recommendation to the board who has the authority to call an election.

As the final and most important step, the committee members take the message to the public to ensure that every question is answered.

Here is the timeline that we followed for the 2000 bond election:
